While we have tried to add a lot of fabulous ingredients to this product, you may want to customize it further with other amazing ingredients. These special ingredients that we call "Goodies" can be added to our Recovery Repair Masque for an additional per unit charge.
We also have a variety of Herbal Extracts and Extract Blends and Exotic Plant Oils that you might want to add to this product.
You will be able to choose one or more of these "Goodies", "Herbal Extracts/Blends", and "Exotic Plant Oils" on the product order form.

Special Ingredient Descriptions and Labeling Information
Below each special ingredient we have listed a brief description of what the ingredient does. This will help you decide if you want to add it to the formula. If the ingredient name is highlighted in pink, it means it is a link to more information about that ingredient. It is important to have the correct INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) in the ingredient list you put on your product label. Below the description of each special ingredient, we have the INCI name(s) that should go in your ingredient list. Sodium Lactate Moisturizer
Sodium lactate is the product of fermentation of sugar. Sodium Lactate is one of the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) constituents of skin, required in the maintenance of natural hydration. Sodium Lactate is a superior moisturizer, increasing the moisture content of skin by up to 84%. When compared to other commonly used moisturizers, it’s water holding capacity is second only to Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid).

Natural Moisturizing Factor
Derived from amino acids, this material is similar to the Natural Moisturizing Factor which is a normal part of the skin. It can increase moisture in the skin and hair with more hydrating power than glycerin to give softness and elasticity.

This is a blend of silicones and hair conditioners to add softening, conditioning, and shine all in one. It adds a light feel of silicone without weighing the hair down. This material can be added at multiple levels (1X, 2X . . . 5X) for more conditioning & silicone feel. This material might make clear products slightly hazy.

Color Protect Solution
This material is a special extract that has been shown to protect natural and dyed hair color from fading. It has strong free radical scavenging activity.

Protein Repair Booster
This is a blend of the following materials:
- Keratin is a highly specialized fibrous protein, which is found in hair, feathers, wool and nails. Keratin is distinct from other proteins in that it is rich in cysteine (an amino acid), which gives keratin unique strengthening and protective properties. Keratin not only protects the hair but minimizes damage and increases strength.
2. Milk amino acids can penetrate the hair shaft for moisture and repair. They can bind with water to increase moisturization which results in stronger, more flexible hair.

Lightweight Silicone
This is a “volatile” silicone material which means it goes on really light and dry and some of it slowly evaporates off the hair over time so there isn’t a lot of build-up on the hair but just smooth, perfect shiny hair. On skin it adds a non-greasy, lubricious feel with a velvety after feel.

Glycans
Glycans are widely used in skin & hair care products because of their ability to bind with water efficiently and increase depth of hydration. They are easily accepted by skin and hair because of their positive charge. This “goodie” is so you can add a higher percentage of Glycerin to your products. Glycerin is what is called a “humectant”. It attracts water to skin and hair. It adds great moisturizing to skin care products without an oily feel. It is water soluble so is fabulous in body washes and shampoos. It is well known as a curl enhancer in products for wavy and curly hair and helps define curls.

Detangler for Conditioners
This material is a conditioner & detangler for hair products. It offers anti-tangle, anti-static, and emollient properties. It is an amazing detangler. It can be added to any of our conditioner bases and repair masque.
We suggest that for maximum detangling in the conditioners, you add it at double the regular amount (2X).

Slip & Shine Booster
Isopropyl myristate is what is called a “dry oil”. It is a plant based material that has been modified to make it feel very light, silky & drier than regular vegetable oils. This material has a very light lubricious feel and good shine. This ingredient can be added to many of our hair and body products to add a little bit of slip and shine. This material can also be added to our edge controls, pomades and styling clay to make a bit softer, spread better, and add some more moisture which helps the hair be less frizzy and edges to stay down longer.

It is well known as a curl enhancer in products for wavy and curly hair and helps define curls. Castor oil is a thick, heavier oil that smooths and adds shine to products. This blend of materials is best suited to be used in leave-on products such as the Curl Riot Cream, Edge Controls, Beard Cream, Pomades, and Clay Paste.
